Booklet and book printing in Belfast: from 8-page programmes to 250-page catalogues

Booklets and books are how a business or institution puts its full story in front of someone — annual reports, training manuals, conference programmes, product catalogues, course handbooks, wedding keepsakes. We print them in Belfast every week across all three binding methods. The decision helper above shows the right binding by use case.

The three binding methods we print

Saddle-stitched (stapled) booklets are the most economical for 8-48 page publications — perfect for programmes, brochures, magazines and short-run keepsakes. Perfect-bound books have a square spine that reads like a published title, ideal for catalogues, annual reports and self-published books from 48 pages up. Wiro-bound booklets lay flat at every page and fold all the way back, the right pick for training manuals, recipe books, course workbooks and any reference that needs hands-free use.

Choosing your stock

For inner pages, 130gsm or 170gsm silk is the standard — sharp print, vibrant photography, light enough to keep page weight manageable. Step up to 250gsm silk for inner pages on premium publications or fine art books. For covers, 250gsm to 350gsm silk with matt lamination is the workhorse spec — gives the cover the right substantial feel and protects it from scuffs. Soft-touch lamination on the cover signals premium for high-end annual reports and catalogues. For more on stocks, see our paper stock guide.

Setting up artwork for booklet printing

Supply a multi-page PDF with pages in reading order. Each page should include 3mm bleed and be at 300dpi in CMYK. For perfect-bound books, the cover artwork should be supplied as a single spread including front cover, spine and back cover at the calculated spine width — talk to us first if you're unsure. Every file gets a free pre-press check before production starts. See our booklet binding guide.

Why local printing matters for booklets

Booklet projects often have hard launch dates tied to AGMs, conferences, course start dates or product launches. Local Belfast production means coordinated turnaround, the option to walk in with cover artwork late in the cycle, and a faster reprint if anything's wrong. We back every booklet order with the Papercut Promise: not happy with the result, free reprint, no questions.
